Is this against the rules?
Ok, so this morning I went on a cap run/IDS farm in Mineral Springs with a bunch of people - 5 random, my brother, and a guy from the alliance. After capping our skills we killed some Ice Imps, and a Req 9 15^50 IDS dropped for the alliance guy. Unfortunately it dropped when all of us were dead except for 2 random people and my brother. The random people had used up their rezzes, but my brother had Rebirth.
The 2 random people lured ice imps on my brother in hopes that it would kill him but instead they died. So my brother was the last one standing. I got a screenshot of the IDS reserved for the alliance guy, and a screenshot of my brother taking it. What I need to know is if I can report this to Anet, and if it is against the rules. |

I don't really think it's against the rules; but it's not very nice. Just go punch your brother til he gives it up.

I like the part about where the 2 jerks died, but the ending's kinda weak. Did the alliance guy get his sword, or did your brother keep it for himself?
While doing the kind of crap the random players tried is dirty pool, I don't think it's "against the rules." |

He didn't. He told me that he'd put it on his warrior, but I know that he'll just keep it around to say "I stole this item"
Oh, and the 2 random people were trying to get the sword for the alliance guy. |

All Anet did about this was double the reserved time on stuff. They wont do much more.
Your Brother waited 10 minutes for it to unreserve lol. |

So what you guys are telling me is that Anet doesn't care that my brother stole a guy's item right?
Oh... and I can't beat my brother up, he's older than me. He's usually the one who beats me up. |

This is more something you would tell your mom about, not Anet.
And baseball bats and stairs are good equalizers when it comes to big brothers. Just make it look like an accident and don't tell your mom I told you that. Livingston |

In a nutshell; no, Anet doesn't really care. Even if it was a major scam or something; they can't make the person give the item back. All they can do is suspend the account; how long depends on what happened.

Now if your parents raised him right, he will give the IDS to your alliance member that it originally dropped for. |

IDS' all come as 15>50 as standard, that's how he knows
Submit the screenshots to anet anyhow, I would suggest leaving out the bit where he's your brother though unless at any point they specifically ask. By the way I don't believe (don't know 100% but I can't imagine for a moment that they would) that they pass on the name of the complainant to the person being complained about. It might carry more weight if the guy who lost the sword complained instead though. |
